Ethyca Consent Monitor
The Ethyca Consent Monitor is an automated browser that checks that the Astralis consent banner loads correctly on your website. If your site uses a bot manager or web application firewall (WAF), use this page to identify the monitor and allow it through.
What the monitor does
Once an hour, the monitor:
- Loads the pages on your site that Ethyca monitors.
- Waits for Fides.js to initialize.
- Checks that the consent banner or modal renders with the expected Fides.js version and settings.
The monitor does not log in, submit forms, or store page content. It only checks the consent banner.
Identify the monitor
Every request from the monitor ends its User-Agent header with this token:
EthycaConsentMonitor/1.0 (+https://www.ethyca.com/docs/consent/guides/consent-monitor)All requests come from these IPv4 addresses. The monitor does not use IPv6.
| Location | IP address |
|---|---|
| London, GB | 18.135.172.199 |
| Virginia, US | 44.206.209.14 |
| California, US | 54.193.206.34 |
The same addresses are published as a machine-readable JSON list of monitor IP addresses.
Allow the monitor through your bot manager
Add an allow rule for all three IP addresses in your bot manager or WAF. In DataDome, add an allowlist rule for these IP addresses.
Match on IP address rather than on the User-Agent token, because any client can copy a User-Agent header.
Your site can show a different consent experience in each region, such as TCF (Transparency and Consent Framework) in Europe and GPP (Global Privacy Platform) in California. Allow all three addresses so the monitor covers every region.
