Ethyca Expands to Europe with New Dublin HQ and AI Governance R&D Center
Ethyca is establishing its European headquarters and R&D center in Dublin, creating 50 new roles to accelerate the development of enterprise AI governance and trusted data infrastructure.

Ethyca is establishing its European headquarters and R&D center in Dublin, creating 50 new roles focused on the hard engineering problems behind trusted, AI-ready data systems. This is not a regional sales office; it is an investment in core infrastructure for the next decade of AI.
Why Dublin, Why Now
Enterprises are moving from AI experimentation to AI at scale. That shift exposes a simple constraint: most organizations do not have a data layer that can safely support the speed and opacity of modern AI systems.
Dublin gives Ethyca a base to tackle that problem from within one of the world’s most concentrated ecosystems for data, AI, and large-scale engineering. It also sits at the intersection of our customer base: financial services, life sciences, and global technology firms with major operations in Europe.
As founder and CEO Cillian Kieran put it, “Dublin offers the ideal base to build infrastructure for the next decade of safe, transparent, and AI-ready data systems.”
Global infrastructure for AI Speed
Ethyca’s platform is already embedded in more than 50 large enterprises, including The New York Times, Ramp, and a top-three U.S. bank. The work is consistent across these institutions: make data discoverable, governed, and enforceable in real time, across complex, distributed systems.
The Dublin HQ will act as a center of excellence for:
- Janus: real-time consent orchestration across web, apps, and downstream systems
- Astralis: automatic policy enforcement within AI model pipelines and data flows
As regulations evolve — from the Digital Omnibus to sector-specific AI guidance — the burden is shifting from policy documents to verifiable technical controls. The R&D team in Dublin will focus on that enforcement layer: how to encode governance directly into the systems that move and transform data.

Dublin offers the ideal base to build infrastructure for the next decade of safe, transparent, and AI-ready data systems.”Cillian Kieran, Founder & CEO, Ethyca
A 50-Person Team Solving Hard Problems in Privacy
The Dublin expansion is Ethyca’s largest-ever investment in product development and AI governance. We plan to hire 50 people, with the majority of roles in:
- Senior software engineering and architecture
- Product management for data, governance, and AI workflows
- Security and infrastructure
- AI research focused on large-scale, sensitive data systems
A smaller number of strategic go-to-market and program leadership roles will support local and regional execution, but the center of gravity is R&D.
This move follows the recent appointments of Julie Brill (former Chief Privacy Officer at Microsoft and former FTC Commissioner) and Daniel Weitzner (MIT; former White House Deputy CTO) to Ethyca’s board, reinforcing the company’s focus on building technical infrastructure that can stand up to legal, regulatory, and operational scrutiny.
Next up for Ethyca
Ethyca’s Irish HQ will be operational in January 2026, with engineering leadership already in Dublin to begin recruitment and establish the initial technical roadmap for the site.
If you’re an engineer, product leader, security specialist, or AI researcher interested in building the infrastructure that will govern AI at scale, we’d like to talk.
